Real Techniques: Face Brushes

Rave and Review: Real Techniques

These are some of the first brushes I bought went I really started getting into make up a couple of years ago.

They were new enough in the shops and I heard good things about them so I picked up 'The Core Collection' by Real Techniques to start me off.
and ever since I've being buying more and more of these brushes.

The Core Collection includes a small lip/detail brush, a small pointed foundation brush, a buffing brush also for foundation/powder and a contour brush. The whole set is under €30. It also comes with a brush wrap which is great for travelling with your brushes.

All the brushes are great quality and are really durable.
I've had my Core Collection brushes for at least two years and I have never had any shedding or experienced any changes in the texture of the brushes.
Mine are still going strong and still remain really soft.

    The Core Collection

I lost my  Buffing brush a while back and I haven't being able to find it sold separately since, it was one of my most used brushes by RT, its so perfect for foundation/powder.

#1 Buffing Brush

This brush is perfect for foundation, it literally takes two minutes to apply your makeup and it looks amazing! So sad I lost this one! Can anyone tell me if can still buy this separately? I Haven't seen them in ages.

 #2 Small Contour Brush

This one is perfect for contouring! really nice and fluffy, blends the contour out like a dream.
I sometimes use this for applying highlighter to the cheek bones and sometimes even foundation.

 #3 Small Pointed Foundation Brush
Again I use this for different things. Personally I dislike this one for foundation, I find it way too small so it takes for ever to blend out your foundation! I prefer using this one for blending liquid concealer out in small areas, like under the eyes etc. or for pin pointing certain areas on the face that need more coverage with foundation.

#4 Small Lip/Detail Brush
Love this one for cleaning up the brows with cream concealer. Its also the perfect sized lip brush.

After I fell in love with the Core Collection I decided I needed (wanted) some more RT brushes to add to my growing collection.

#1 Expert Face Brush

To replace my much loved Buffing Brush, rest in peace where ever you are! I picked up the very similar Expert Face Brush by RT.
This one is slightly more narrow in shape and a bit more dense. This mean that it really works foundation into the skin. So start with a little at a time and build up the foundation as you go.
This one takes a little more time than the buffing brush but its still a great foundation brush. I use this almost every day.
€13.29 from Boots.

This is a comparison of the Buffing Brush (left) and the E.F Brush (right). There almost identical.

#2 Foundation Stippling Brush

This one is a due-fiber brush that is used to stipple the foundation onto the face for a airbrushed effect.
This one also takes a bit more time but it really does look HD flawless! The bristles on the brush are more sparse compared to the Buffing Brush and the Expert Face Brush.
I got this one for around €14 at Boots.

#3 Blush Brush

I picked up two of these brushes at Boots for €12.99, I use one for Powder/Bronzer and the other one for Blush.
Its so soft and great for applying any type of powder, its really light and fluffy so it disperses the right amount of product without looking 'cakey' or 'powdery'. It blends Bronzer out amazingly too.
The shape of this brush is great, its rounded and pointed at the top so your can really get in to those awkward areas on the face (around the nose, under the eye etc.)

Hope you Enjoys this Review Lovely <3
