Party Season Makeup: Soft Smokey Eye

Soft and Smokey!

Perfect for everyday, I created this soft smokey eye look using the Sleek iDivine Oh So Special Palette. I paired it with a nude lip so the eyes did all the talking!
I went for dewy skin that's slightly bronzed with lots of highlight.

Heres a closer look. Instead of using a soft brown as the transition shade I used a baby pink. I also used this shade to smoke out the lower lash line and give it a softer look.
I popped on some natural lashes to add volume and a bit of length.

I used a shimmery champagne/pink on the inner corners to make the eyes pop even more. I think it looks amazing on blue eyes!

Monthly Favs

November Favourites <3

All the products I have been loving and reaching for almost everyday!

#1 Kate Rimmel Lipsticks!

I love these lippies and they're so affordable too! just €6.99 each. I have mine in the shades 101 (Pale Pink) 107 (Deep Wine/Red) 05 (Dark Nude) and 03 (Pale Nude)

#2 Sleek 4 Lip Palette in the Shade Ballet

I have mentioned this beauty before! see full review here.
Four perfect nude lipsticks in one little palette. I used this all the time and its so handy to throw in your bag and reapply using the little lip brush and mirror when your on the go!

 #3 NO7 Lash Adapt Mascara <3

one of my favourite mascaras along with Max Factor 2000 calorie counts mascara and Maybelline Falsies mascara. It cost €16.95, I got it when I had one of those vouchers for NO7 that you always get when you buy something in Boots. Its makes my lashes so long and thick, without looking clumpy! it doesn't smudge or flake off and its easy to take off <3

#4 Rimmel Sun Shimmer in Medium Matte

I used to use this bronzer back in the day when I first started using make up but I'm almost sure they didn't have the matte version back then?! Picked this up to give it a go and I love it for everyday contouring/bronzing. I'm still on the hunt for the perfect bronzer, any suggestions?
I really want to try Mac Matte Bronze! its next on the list.

 #5 Seventeen Skin WOW! Highlighter/Illuminator

I have also done a full review on this product here!
Its such a gorgeous liquid highlighter. Perfect for mixing in with your foundation for a more dewy finish. You cant go wrong it for €7.59 either!

#6 Seventeen Instant GLOW Shimmer Brick

I use the top two shades as a highlighter, its so similar to Mac Soft and Gentle Mineral Skin Finish. I  picked this up from Boots for €6.99

#7 Sleek iDivine Oh So Special Palette

This palette is great for every day eye looks as well as more dramatic looks. It includes shimmers, mattes and pearl finish mineral based eye shadows that have great pigmentation. In the palette you'll find some matte baby pinks, shimmery pinks/champaigns, matte warm browns, a matte purple and matte black. Some are more pigmented than others but you can only expect that from a drug store brand. Definitely worth €9.99!

#8Maybelline Gel Liner

Love this little pot! Perfect if you haven't tried gel liner yet and you want to give it a go. Its so creamy and the pigmentation is quite good. I usually need to go over it once or twice but it lasts all day. The bottle top on the packaging is too cute!

Hope you enjoyed my monthly Favs!

Estee Lauder Double Wear

Estee Lauder Double Wear

If your a full coverage foundation kind of girl like myself then you will LOVE this!
I love it so much I have two bottles, one to match me when I'm fake tanned and one to match my natural skin tone.
There are so many shades in this foundation for warm, cool and neutral skin tones, so you'll be sure to find the perfect shade for you.
I use the shade 1W2 Sand (NC20 IN MAC)for when I'm not fake tanned
and 3W2 (NC30/35 IN MAC) when I am fake tanned.

The foundation claims to "Keep skin looking fabulous, breathing through heat, humidity and activity without fading or coming off on clothes."
and trust me its all so true! I wear this in work from around 7:30 in the morning to 8pm at night and it looks 99% the same as when I first applied it, which is amazing!

Don't believe me? take a look at the reviews on Debenhams website. This foundation has 346 reviews and received 4.8/5 stars.

Down below I've listed some pros and cons that iv discovered throughout my time using this foundation.

Pros

Lasts at least 12 hours
Does not fade
Doesn't go patchy or oily around nose/T-zone area
Only need a small amount for full coverage result
Doesn't need a primer and still lasts amazing on skin
Huge range of shades available.

Cons

Price point €37 (worth every penny though)
Doesn't work well with a primer (but  its so long lasting you wont need one anyway)
No pump on bottle

Here's some pics of what the foundation looks like on

Make sure you pick up a sample first, there sample size is so generous, I got a full week, maybe more out of mine!

Hope this helped,

Rave and Review: Sleek Cosmetics

Sleek Cosmetics Bronze It Up!

There is nothing I love more than a good bronzer. There are so many out there it can be hard to find the right one for you.
Some can look muddy, too shimmery, TOO ORANGE! its a challenge alright!

I heard so many great things about Sleek face palettes I had to pick some up. Even better they had 3 for 2 on all cosmetics!

The first palette I picked up from Sleek was the 'Face Form' palette in the shade 'Medium'. These palettes come in a range of shades from light to dark. They each contain a different shade bronzer/contour powder, highlighter and blush to compliment lighter skin tone as well as dark.

It cost €12.99. It's so pigmented and it doesn't just disappear from my face throughout the day!!

(natural lighting)

I've also been loving Sleeks Bronze Block!

The pigmentation isn't as good as the Face Form palette, but it still shows up really well on the face!
It does annoy me that there is a blush in the palette, I like to use the bronzer shades only and I find it awkward avoiding the blush with my brush! Other than that I cant fault it <3
I got this in the shade LIGHT for €9.49 from Boots.

I used the Face Form palette to highlight and contour, then I bronzed it up using the Bronze Block

Hope You Enjoyed!

Gold Sultry Eyes & Burgundy Lips

All That Glitters is Gold

Step One: The Transition Shade

Using a large blending brush, apply a warm toned, light brown just above your crease. Blend it slightly upwards using small circular and sweeping motions.
Make sure you don't bring it to close to your brow bone.
Always use a matte eye shadow that's only a couple of shades darker than your skin.

Step Two: Define the Crease

Use a warm toned brown a couple of shades darker than the transition shade.
Apply it to the crease using a smaller blending brush.
Blend slightly upwards using circular/sweeping motions.

Step Three: Smoke it Out

Apply the same colour used on the crease to smoke out the lower lash line using a fluffy shader brush.

Step Four: Onto the lids

Using a flat shader brush, apply gold to the inner half on the lid using patting and sweeping motions.
Then apply a darker bronze shade to the outer half of the lid.

Step Five: Define even More

Use the darkest shade to define the crease even more using a smell pencil brush for precision, then blend it out with a fluffy blending brush.
You can also go under the lash liner with this colour, focusing on the outer half of the lash line only.

Step Six: Add a Pop of Colour to Inner Corners

To complete the look add mascara and gel liner
and a Burgundy lipstick.
I used Rimmel 107 by Kate Moss.

Brow Tutorial

Brows on Point!!

Its all about the brows! Full, defined brows are so on trend. I don't think we'll ever look back at thin, over plucked eyebrows again! Seriously, what were we thinking?!

To achieve flawless, strong brows your going to need to following:

Inglot Gel Eyeliner number 90 (Maybelline/Rimmel also do brown gel liners!)
Brow Pencil for filling in your brows
Brow wand (clean disposable mascara wand) to brush out your brows
A thick cream concealer for sculpting your brows (I use Mac Studio Fix Concealer in NC20)
A small detail brush for concealer

Step One: Groom your brows!

Make sure all stray hairs are plucked, then use the wand to comb your front brow hairs upwards and the rest over to the side.

Step Two: Define your Eyebrows

This can be done by using an eyebrow pencil with a slightly heavier hand, or you can use an angled brush and brown gel eye liner.
I find the gel works better to keep the hairs in place and give a more defined look.

Step Three: Fill Them In!

Use your brow pencil to feather light stokes in the front of your brows working your way to the middle of the brow filling in any gaps.
Im using Soap and Glory Archarchy Eyebrow Pencil in the shade Hot Chocolate. (€10 from Boots)

Step Four: Blend Blend Blend!!

Use the wand again to blend out any harsh lines! Focus of the front of the brows.

Step Five: Sculpt  and Highlight

Use a small detail brush, I'm using a lip brush by Real Techniques (available from Boots),  to sculpt out the bottom and the tail of your eyebrow. This will highlight your brow bone, define your brow EVEN MORE! as well as help clean up any mess.
Mac Studio Fix Concealer is great for this! but any cream concealer will do the job :)

afterwards just blend the concealer and apply the rest of your makeup as normal.

Hope this Helped!
And remember your brows are sisters not twins ;)

Tried and Tested

Inglot YSM Foundation & Under Makeup Base

I'm always on the hunt for a new foundation that works wonders! so I decided to give Inglot YSM Foundation a go.

I bought this foundation for €20 and got it in the shade 45, which is similar to MAC NC35.
This shade is perfect for when I'm fake tanned!
The foundation is a cream foundation, its quite thick in consistency but feels very light weight once applied to the face.

I was told when buying this foundation that it had a medium coverage, but I have to disagree, its very sheer! and it takes a couple of layers to conceal any problem areas, which I hate because you end up looking caked!
I also found that the foundation looked slightly patchy when I applied it and it took FOREVER to get it looking half decent!

I applied this foundation multiple ways, using a damp beauty blender sponge, a stippling brush, buffing brush and even my fingers (which I never do, but I was desperate to make this foundation work!)
I find it works best applying it with a more fluffy haired foundation brush or a stippling brush as a dense foundation brush tends to drag the foundation around, it just wasn't happening for me at all, so annoying!

Stippling Brush

 Buffing Brush (to dense!)

If your looking for a long wearing foundation, then this is not for you! It only last 3/4 hours on me before fading/wearing off and looking oily around my nose, I have more dry skin than oily too so I can only imagine it on someone with an oily skin type.

As for the Under Makeup Base which costs €22, it made no noticeable difference to the application or appearance of my foundation and it was definitely not worth the money!
You could get something way better AND CHEAPER in the likes of Boots/Superdrug.

I give the foundation an overall rating of 1.5/5 and the Under Makeup Base a rating of 0/5 as it made no difference at all whether I used it or not with the YSM Foundation.

Hope this helped

Rave and Review

Seventeen Skin Wow Primer

I cant get enough of this stuff and for only €7.59 you cant go wrong!

I had been trying to get my hands of this for weeks but every time I went to boots it was sold out, and no wonder! Its gorgeous!
I finally managed to get it and I've been using this every day since and I cant get enough of it. I usually opt for a matte finished to my foundation but now that its Winter my skin tends to be more dry so I need something to make my skin a little less dull and a little more GLOWY!
and this does just that.
I've used this so many ways and it looks stunning no matter how I apply it!
You can apply it to your whole face before foundation, mix it with your foundation or just apply it to your cheek bones, the centre of your nose, forehead and cupids bow after foundation. Either way it looks SOOO pretty. I'm in love.
Id recommend using it with a matte or semi matte foundation to avoid looking sweaty lol.
I usually use this with my Estee Lauder Double Wear <3 or Mac Studio Fix Fluid! It works great with both.
It feels so moisturising when you apply it so its great for us dry skin girls too!

Heres some pics of how it looks once applied :)
