Tried and Tested: L'oreal Infallible 24 Hour Foundation

I'm back with another foundation review for you lot! I'm always trying and testing out new foundations so when I heard the hype around this foundation,  I had to give it a try.

This foundation claims to be 'long wearing' this is what stood out to me the most. No one wants there foundation slipping off their face after a couple of hours, there's nothing worse!

So after a long struggle in Boots, the boyfriend will back me up on this lol, I finally picked up the closest shade to a Mac NC 30/35 to match my fake tan.

All the shades are more on the warm side (yellow undertones) however, some are slightly more neutral/pink than others.

I picked up the shade 235 Miel Honey. which is an OK colour match, but it is slightly more pink than I expected. I think next time I'll pick up 200, which is the next shade down.

Ive been wearing this foundation over the past two weeks and I am so impressed. It gives a medium to buildable coverage and it looks FLAWLESS!
I've had a couple of people comment on how nice it looks.

Its lasts really well on the skin too, I have combination skin that can be a little oily around the nose and chin, and sometimes a bit dry in places. This foundation gives your skin a smooth looking texture and I only notice it getting a small bit oily after a good 6/7 hours.

I like to apply this foundation with a damp beauty blender and/or a Real Techniques Expert Face brush, I also use a bit of powder to set it in place.

The finish of this foundation is semi-matte. I find it givesa  similar look to Mac Studio Sculpt when applied.

I'm so glad I picked this foundation up and I'm definitely going to pick it up in a lighter shade for when I'm not fake tanned.
It costs around €14.99 and its worth every penny! Pick it up on 2 for 2, even better!

Go into Boots and have a mess around with it, I'd advised you to see the foundation in natural lighting too. The lighting in Boots is terrible!

Hope you enjoyed and found this review helpful :)

Monthly Favs

November Favourites <3

All the products I have been loving and reaching for almost everyday!

#1 Kate Rimmel Lipsticks!

I love these lippies and they're so affordable too! just €6.99 each. I have mine in the shades 101 (Pale Pink) 107 (Deep Wine/Red) 05 (Dark Nude) and 03 (Pale Nude)

#2 Sleek 4 Lip Palette in the Shade Ballet

I have mentioned this beauty before! see full review here.
Four perfect nude lipsticks in one little palette. I used this all the time and its so handy to throw in your bag and reapply using the little lip brush and mirror when your on the go!

 #3 NO7 Lash Adapt Mascara <3

one of my favourite mascaras along with Max Factor 2000 calorie counts mascara and Maybelline Falsies mascara. It cost €16.95, I got it when I had one of those vouchers for NO7 that you always get when you buy something in Boots. Its makes my lashes so long and thick, without looking clumpy! it doesn't smudge or flake off and its easy to take off <3

#4 Rimmel Sun Shimmer in Medium Matte

I used to use this bronzer back in the day when I first started using make up but I'm almost sure they didn't have the matte version back then?! Picked this up to give it a go and I love it for everyday contouring/bronzing. I'm still on the hunt for the perfect bronzer, any suggestions?
I really want to try Mac Matte Bronze! its next on the list.

 #5 Seventeen Skin WOW! Highlighter/Illuminator

I have also done a full review on this product here!
Its such a gorgeous liquid highlighter. Perfect for mixing in with your foundation for a more dewy finish. You cant go wrong it for €7.59 either!

#6 Seventeen Instant GLOW Shimmer Brick

I use the top two shades as a highlighter, its so similar to Mac Soft and Gentle Mineral Skin Finish. I  picked this up from Boots for €6.99

#7 Sleek iDivine Oh So Special Palette

This palette is great for every day eye looks as well as more dramatic looks. It includes shimmers, mattes and pearl finish mineral based eye shadows that have great pigmentation. In the palette you'll find some matte baby pinks, shimmery pinks/champaigns, matte warm browns, a matte purple and matte black. Some are more pigmented than others but you can only expect that from a drug store brand. Definitely worth €9.99!

#8Maybelline Gel Liner

Love this little pot! Perfect if you haven't tried gel liner yet and you want to give it a go. Its so creamy and the pigmentation is quite good. I usually need to go over it once or twice but it lasts all day. The bottle top on the packaging is too cute!

Hope you enjoyed my monthly Favs!

Brow Tutorial

Brows on Point!!

Its all about the brows! Full, defined brows are so on trend. I don't think we'll ever look back at thin, over plucked eyebrows again! Seriously, what were we thinking?!

To achieve flawless, strong brows your going to need to following:

Inglot Gel Eyeliner number 90 (Maybelline/Rimmel also do brown gel liners!)
Brow Pencil for filling in your brows
Brow wand (clean disposable mascara wand) to brush out your brows
A thick cream concealer for sculpting your brows (I use Mac Studio Fix Concealer in NC20)
A small detail brush for concealer

Step One: Groom your brows!

Make sure all stray hairs are plucked, then use the wand to comb your front brow hairs upwards and the rest over to the side.

Step Two: Define your Eyebrows

This can be done by using an eyebrow pencil with a slightly heavier hand, or you can use an angled brush and brown gel eye liner.
I find the gel works better to keep the hairs in place and give a more defined look.

Step Three: Fill Them In!

Use your brow pencil to feather light stokes in the front of your brows working your way to the middle of the brow filling in any gaps.
Im using Soap and Glory Archarchy Eyebrow Pencil in the shade Hot Chocolate. (€10 from Boots)

Step Four: Blend Blend Blend!!

Use the wand again to blend out any harsh lines! Focus of the front of the brows.

Step Five: Sculpt  and Highlight

Use a small detail brush, I'm using a lip brush by Real Techniques (available from Boots),  to sculpt out the bottom and the tail of your eyebrow. This will highlight your brow bone, define your brow EVEN MORE! as well as help clean up any mess.
Mac Studio Fix Concealer is great for this! but any cream concealer will do the job :)

afterwards just blend the concealer and apply the rest of your makeup as normal.

Hope this Helped!
And remember your brows are sisters not twins ;)

90'S Lips: Sleek Lip 4 Lipstick Palette

Jenner Lips Alert!!

Ok! Everyone's talking about Kylies lips. Whether she has had them done or not, WE WANT THEM! and with the help of a couple of products I've come across you can get her lips for LESS!

Since Kylie began posting selfies on Instagram rocking  this AMAZING lip colour every makeup lover out there has been searching for the perfect product to get this 90's inspired lip. With there being SOOO many products out there I've narrowed it down to a hand full of the best products you can choose from to get her exact look .

Kim Kardashian also revealed to Nic from Pixiwoo on YouTube (one of my fav youtubers), which lip product Kylie actually uses to achieve her fab lips. (read on to find out)

SLEEK LIP 4 LIPSTICK PALETTE IN BALLET

I have been using this lip palette from Sleek for almost two months on a daily basis and I cannot recommend it enough! if your looking to jump on the 90's lip trend band wagon or you simply just want a neutral lipstick this is a must! plus you can never go wrong with four lip shades for just €10.99.
As the name suggests the palette consists of 4 GORGEOUS! nude and soft pink lip shades all with  individual names: Tutu, PliĆ©, Swan Lake and Pirouette

LIP PALETTE SWATCHES

The palette is a mixture of matte, gloss and satin finishes. I usually mix up the shades to create my own lip colour.
The colours are really pigmented and the staying power is roughly 4/5 hours until I feel I need to re-apply but that's just me! I could probably get away with leaving it longer until reapplying if I'm honest.
I love love love these lip palettes and I'm definitely going to purchase more next time I'm in Boots (which will more than likely be in the next few days, I have problems!)

This palette along with a darker nude lip liner is all you need to create the Kylie Jenner 90's lip. I recommend using  Mac Whirl, Stripdown, or Spice (Kylie uses Spice) to slightly over line the lips and to fill them in slightly. This will create a base for the sleek lipsticks and help your lips stay perfect for longer!

Blog Post #1

Hello and Welcomes to my blog!

I'm Ciara, a nineteen year old hairdressing student with a slight obsession with anything and EVERYTHING! got to do with makeup, think I chose the wrong the profession, sad face. I am by far not an MUA, just someone who has a lot of love for makeup and it is definitely something I'm going to look into doing professionally. Now a little less about me and on to the bloggy stuff.

I've decided to start up my own blog to share with you my thoughts and opinions on makeup products I purchase, ones I love as well as the ones I hate. This way I might just feel a little less guilty about my impulse buying and maybe help you save some dollars. You never know, you might even find a holy grail product or two along the long the way. I'll apologise in advance for any makeup purchases I influence mwhahaha!

I'll be posting product reviews, comparisons, pictorials, my monthly favs and that sort of thing. A few fashion bits and the odd hair tutorial too.

Now off to start on my first product review, my current fav lip product!

In the meantime you can head over to my Instagram http://instagram.com/ciarasherwin_xo

Bye for now :)
