Create New Lipstick/Eye Liner Shades: Nyx Jumbo Pencil

Why You Need a NYX 'Milk' Jumbo Pencil in your Makeup Collection

I heard about this product from NYX years ago but it was so hard to find NYX in Ireland. Lately its becoming more and more available, with many pharmacy's stocking the brand so when I seen a NYX display in my local Pharmacy I had to pick one of these pencils up and let me tell you, I will never go without having at least one in my kit EVER AGAIN!

I've found many uses for the shade 'Milk' jumbo pencil, which is a white creamy pencil. Whether you are a makeup lover or makeup is your profession, you should have one in your kit!

Use 1: All About That Base
Apply a few strokes of the pencil to your lid and blend out with your ring finger. This acts as a base for your eye shadow, it will help you shadow adhere better to your eye lid and appear more vibrant and true to the colour you see in the eye shadow pan.

Use 2: Colour Pop
For example if your want to add a pop of colour to the inner corners of your eyes as a highlight, or make your eye shadow appear more pastel in colour, pop a bit of the pencil underneath and pat the shadow on top.

Use 3: Perfect Pout
I love using this method to create new lip colours and it's perfect for creating an Ombre lip. Mix a bit of your 'Milk' Jumbo Pencil with your lipstick to create a paler, more pastel version of the chosen lip shade.
For creating an Ombre lip just apply your chosen lip shade to the lips then pat the Jumbo Pencil in the center of your lips and blend out with your ring finger to create a gradient effect between the two colours.

Use 4 : Bright Eyed
This pencil has the most perfect, creamy consistency for lining the waterline and it last ages too. To make your eyes appear brighter and slightly bigger apply the pencil to the water line straight from the tube or with a brush, up to you.

Use 5: Wings on Fleek
Take an angled liner brush and apply some of the pencil to your brush, use it as you would with your usual gel/cream liner. You can keep it white or add a colourful eye shadow over top to create different coloured wings, saving some €€ at the same time!

Hope you enjoyed! Leave comments I love hearing your feedback xox

I'M FINALLY ON YOUTUBE!

FINALLY I'M A BEAUTY YOUTUBER!

I've been watching and learning from other beauty Youtubers for YEARS! and I've always wanted to start up my own channel but didn't for so many different reasons, the main reason being; I didn't know what other people would think.

When I first started watching YT the beauty community was a lot more 'hush hush' then it is now. Now watching makeup tutorials on YT is something everyone and their grannys do.

Over the past year I've really seen my makeup skills improve and I'm beginning to find my own 'makeup style'. I find myself getting asked a lot about what makeup products I use and friends encouraging me to do makeup professionally, I guess I never thought I was 'good enough', me being the protectionist that I am I hate when things aren't well....PERFECT.

Basically I said to myself ...I need to accept that everything I  do isn't going to be exactly how I want and there's always going to be something I'd like to change or do differently, but at that rate I'd never get shit done!

I'm excited to see where my YT journey takes me and I hope you enjoy my first Youtube video and the rest!
Enjoy <3

Contour and Highlight Like a Pro

How To: Contour and Highlight

Hey Everyone! Welcome back to my Blog. I was at the Irish Beauty Show in the RDS last Sunday and I picked up the Crown Brush 10 concealer palette which I've been dying to try out!
Here's my How to Contour Tutorial and a quick review of the product itself.
Enjoy! x

Contouring and Highlighting is all the rage lately!
Its actually a drag queen makeup technique (taken down a notch or two) that has been around for years and has been made popular by Kim K and her fabulous makeup artist Mario.

To be able to contour and highlight like a pro there's a few things you need to understand before you go crazy drawing lines all over the place ( it happens to the best of us). It will also make it a little less confusing as to why you are putting all that crap on your face.

CONTOURING:
By contouring you are creating 'shadows'  and are adding the illusion of a more structured and narrow face.
This mean if you want to make something appear smaller (eg. your nose) or give more depth to your face (eg. cheekbones)  you contour.

HIGHLIGHTING:
As the name suggests you are 'highlighting' a feature on your face, making it appear larger (eg. lips, cupids bow) or making it 'stand out' more or appear fuller.
Personally I like to stick to contouring my cheekbones and forehead only, and highlighting every place under the sun! But its all about what you like and what suits your face shape and features the most :)

WHERE TO CONTOUR AND HIGHLIGHT:
You can do the whole sha-bang or you can pin point certain areas of the face you want to contour and highlight to make features appear larger or smaller.

Highlight:

Middle of Forehead
Center of the Nose
Cupids Bow (above lip)
Under Brows
Under eyes using the famous Kim K 'Triangle Technique'
Center of Chin
Tops of Cheek Bones

Contour:

Cheek Bones  (always blend upwards)
Jawline (blend down onto neck)
Temple area and Forehead
Sides and Tip of Nose

QUICK REVIEW/MY THOUGHTS ON THE PALETTE

Highlighting and Contouring can be done using powders as well a cream products. This was my first time using cream products to contour and I really loved the effect it gave, it was really natural!

Here's a look at the product itself

The concealers were really nice to use and they remind me of the Mac Studio Concealers. They blend nicely, some took a little more work to blend, but that was what expected for some of the darker shades.

The concealers give a medium coverage and a little goes a long way!
I think this palette is a must have if your looking to cream contour, conceal or if your a freelance MUA working on different skin tones.

Heres a look at the shades that come in the palette, the darker shades appear more red toned on camera but they are slightly more neutral in person!

Its so affordable and the quality is really nice for the price, I picked this up for €18 at the beauty show but you can get it from the Crown Brush website too!

Hope this helped some of you ladies!
